It's A Boy!

I just realized that I never specified what the baby was......I guess I just assume everyone knows, which is silly. Anyway, we are having a BOY! We haven't picked any names yet, and for fear of someone stealing names....ahem, ALISA............I will not mention our ideas! We are so excited, but I don't know anything about BOYS!
So I will be asking lots of questions when this one comes.
Still doing "ok" pregnancy-wise, the baby is moving around a lot. No rib kicks yet, but I know my kids won't give me a break.

A story to be shared....

Its ironic that I am posting this after the last one about "me and messes". I am sure I will look back on this story and laugh, but it is definitely not yet!
Yesterday Edwin left for Boot Camp and I needed to meet with the insurance person to get health insurance coverage, which the office is way dowtown. I showed up early hoping to meet with him before the rush came. Thankfully they have an area for little kids to play with toys, puzzles, etc. Emma starts in on a puzzle and Olivia starts eating the pieces, so I tell her to put it away for now. All of the sudden she gets this terrified look on her face and starts saying, "I gotta pee, I gotta pee, I gotta pee, I gotta pee", and all the while she is telling me this, I am saying, "Hold it, hold it, You better not pee your pants!" "Drop the puzzle and hold it!" Unfortunately, she didn't let go of the puzzle and peed all over herself.....with the dripping down her leg and everything.
Now my threats usually work, but for some reason this time - Nothing.
I am sitting there in shock that she actually peed her pants!
Of course, she is still in the same position hunched over holding the stupid puzzle box!
I dragged her to the bathroom and cleaned her up the best I could through her big fat tears rolling down her face. I ruined her life by telling her she had to sit in the clothes because I didn't have any extras (uh, hello she is almost 4 years old). And she is looking at me like I am this awful mom for not having back up clothes. While I am looking at her SO frustrated that she peed her pants!! I asked her WHY she didn't just hold it. She looks at me like I'm the crazy one and says "I couldn't drop the puzzle!"
Needless to say, she stayed in her peed shorts, which dried shortly after, until we got home later that day.
Maybe I'll look back on this and laugh.....or write it in my blog to be shared with her future husband later. Either way, I have to chalk it up as another "Mom experience".....one of the ones I don't EVER want to have happen again!

Me & Messes

I've realized that since having Olivia that I am way better at handling kids eating messy, sticky, slimy, gooey, slippery stuff. Emma didn't EVER get put in her high chair and left to eat whatever and make a big mess of herself. Occasionally, I gave in and would give Emma something, but I took it away before she could finish and I ran her to the bathtub. I don't know why, it just drove me nuts to see her dirty! I I was looking through my photo album and I could only find 2 pictures of Emma messy. I think I may have deprived my child! And with Olivia it seems like it's at least once a week that she makes a mess, and luckily sometimes I'm not here to see the mess, just the cute pictures! We'll see with the next baby, I just may turn into an actual human being!
Olivia with a lollipop
Thankfully, I wasn't home for this (for Olivia's sake) I probably wouldn't have even let her hold it, I would hold it and she could lick it. Emma after a PB & J
I have no recollection of this mess. I know I took the picture....maybe it was such a big mess, I blocked it from my memory. I know, I'm crazy.
Emma eating ice cream
One of the few pictures of her being messy, and obviously she just loved it.

Olivia with Oreos
This one, I told Edwin not to give her an Oreo or she would be a big mess! He's more fun that me, and he cleaned it up....this time.

Olivia with Licorice
Sadly, I took it away before she finished and scrubbed her clean!

Another fun day

We got to go to the Pima Air and Space Museum a couple weeks ago. Edwin and I have been there a couple times and we really love going. Emma got to ride in the Flight Simulator and play in the little planes. They seemed to have more "kid stuff" than we remembered. It was a lot of fun and Emma still talks about the fun things she saw and what we did. And the weather was perfect on the day we went which makes it so much easier to walk around outside! We really need a double stroller!

Finally! A place where she can touch all the buttons she wants and nothing will break!

Snow Day!

Here are some pictures from when we went to the snow a couple weeks ago. Olivia absolutely hated it and wanted no part in the wet stuff that made her toes and nose cold. Emma had so much fun playing and building a snowman. Every 5 minutes she would pick up a snow ball and yell "Snowball Fight!" and throw it at us. Kids catch on too fast.

We asked her what we should name our snowman and she quickly said "Houdini"
Where that name came from we have no clue, but it's cute.
HOUDINI - the snowman

Morning Sickness

If everyone hasn't already heard, Edwin and I are expecting again!
A new baby (boy or girl, we aren't picky) will be showing up fashionably EARLY (I hope) sometime around July 25th.
We are so excited for a change and for a new baby again.
I've been "lost" for a while with emails and blogging because I haven't had the time and when I don't feel good in the mornings my whole routine is thrown out the window! But now I'm getting back on track, I'm not feeling so sick, but the continuous bathroom breaks have already started. I could sit here and type all the things that just drive me nuts about being pregnant, and it's not the stuff that is painful, it's just the stuff that is inconvenient - but I should probably just be quiet and be grateful that my children are healthy and happy!
